LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has given an ultimatum of 15 d
ays for C
areem and Uber to get registered.
Punjab government spokesperson clarified that the compa
nies would continue to operate their services in the meanti
me.
He said, “There is no ban on these services in the province. The compa
nies will just need to follow the rules.”
He added that the Punjab Transport Department will be in contact with both Uber and C
areem to fulfill legal requirements with regards to their registration.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Excise Department has summoned the records of both the companies. Provincial Minister Zaeem Qadri said that all mobile-app taxi providers have been asked to comply with the l
aws.
