KARACHI: Fire broke out in a shack settlement and an apartment building in Karachi this morning.
Over two dozen shacks were burnt as fire broke out near the settlements.
The in
cident was not of a new kind; previously such in
cidents have taken place due to carelessness of residents. Two people managed to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire, however, has
not yet been determined.
A 72-storey apartment buil
ding also caught fire in Hadi Market due to a short circuit
in the basement.
The shop
in the basement which caught fire was used to store edibles and children’s clothing.
Residents of the apartments came out on the streets, while no loss of life has been repo
rted for either of the in
cidents.
