KARACHI: A prime accused who was involved in attacking Rangers personal was arrested on Monday from PIB area during an intelligence based rai
d by police.
On discreet information, the PIB police arrested an ATA Absconder & hardened criminal from Carnaal Basti.
The arrested target killer Rahat Khan Khattak affiliated with the notorious Darwesh Group was the prime accused who had lead a retaliation to the Pakistan Rangers 84 Wing’s raid in PIB during 2014, which resulted serious injurie
s of two Jawans Zaheer Ahmed and Rashid Ali and a civilian named Abuzar.
In the
same encounter one of his compan
ions accused Mehmood Khokhar aka Pappoo was killed, however, the accused managed to escape.
The accused is also involved in extortion and drug trafficking. Police have recovered one TT pistol with 07 bullets from his possession and has sent it for forensic analysis in other terrorism related case and attack on LEAs cases.
